The FICX and the San Sebastian Film Festival are strengthening their strategic alliance through the CROSSROADS – SSIFF | FICX section, which has already become one of the hallmarks of the Asturian festival. This joint initiative, born out of a desire to join forces and promote collaboration over competition, serves as an indispensable cultural bridge in the festival circuit. Its aim is to break the myth of rivalry between competitions in order to support films, giving them a “second life” and ensuring that the best auteur cinema finds new screens and amplifies its echo.

Thanks to this common space for meeting and cooperation, the Gijón audience has the privilege of enjoying a careful selection of essential works recently presented at the SSIFF. This year’s program, which currently brings together three of the most powerful and acclaimed voices in contemporary cinema, is the perfect example of this philosophy.
